Which Time Machine gap are you trying to close?

The Mac and backup disk are in the same place

Keep Time Machine for fast local recovery, then add Arq, Backblaze, or Azivault for an offsite copy. Replacing the local disk with internet-only recovery usually makes small restores slower without improving offsite protection.

You need full-Mac migration

Time Machine remains stronger than Azivault for migrating applications, accounts, settings, and broad system state. Azivault restores selected files and folders; it is not a Migration Assistant replacement.

You want cloud storage without configuring it
